One of the adventure items on my list is to make fancy oil and fancy vinegar.
That whole thing where you infuse them with herbs and such.
So I read up on the matter, watched a short video and found a recipe for a quick oil.

Behold!
Half of a cup of garlic oil.
So…
I made some mistakes.
Most of the recipes discuss techniques that require a time frame of between one day and two weeks, but I found one recipe that would only take about two hours.
Neat.
Half a cup of olive oil heated on low heat with three smooshed garlic cloves added.
Stir for a few minutes and then leave for two hours.
I left for about one hour.
I can barely taste the three cloves of garlic that I used on this.
So lessons:
1. Actually follow the recipe.
2. Don’t do the shortcut recipe.
3. Will I care about the fancy oil and/or vinegar? I’m having doubts.
4. I won’t know until I try for real
5. Figure out what to eat with the fancy oil and/or vinegar.
6. Make some Chimichurri. It’s basically the same thing and amazing.
7. Should I buy star anise?
8. Stop adding tangents to the list.
A failure is still an adventure.
