๐ŸŽ‚ When Dump Cake and Discord Collide

Thursday January 30th, 2025

Tony bought a cotton candy machine at Target!

Neat!

Friday January 31st, 2025

Tonight is the big game.

The Detroit Pistons vs the Dallas Mavericks.

Giant foam finger prepared.

LET THE GAME COMMENCE!

It’s always fun to go to a live game, but I must tell you a story from this day.

During half-time the camera went to a couple and the man saw he was on camera and dropped to one knee.

She says “Yes!”

The crowd erupts in cheers!

The man takes off his jacket revealing a Dallas Mavericks jersey!

The crowd erupts in boos!

So much drama.

I wish them luck, and also some “Boos.”

Post-game selfie time!

Getting an Uber back was a whole thing.

Well, so was getting an Uber to the game.

Y’know what? Uber is kind of a whole messy thing most of the time, isn’t it?

We had a good time.

It wasn’t too crazy.

The Pistons won.

The foam finger will return with me to NYC.

For reasons.

Saturday February 1st, 2025

Tonight, we break out those acrylic paints again for some Bob Ross!

Aw yeah!

It’s coming along nicely.

Not sure what went wrong with my rocks at the bottom, but I had a good time.

The bad news is that I am not trying to take this onto an airplane so poor Tony and heather are left with my art.

Sorry Tony and Heather.

Their dog is not sorry.

I got cuddles.

And we watched shows together.

Sunday February 2nd, 2025

Michigan has been fun, but it is time to return home.

Monday February 3rd, 2025

Check out this lovely custom postcard from Germany.

What a great use of Washi tape!

Here is a postcard that I am shipping out to Poland.

^ That’s a good one!

On this postcard I discussed a castle that was built by a baker around Austin.

I meant to visit there, but the sudden move to NYC cancelled that plan.

I wonder what it’s like on the inside.

Do you suppose they kept with the castle theme, or is it a regular house on the inside?

I hope there are hidden rooms.

Here is a lovely postcard that I received from Russia.

It came with some sweet stamps.

Check these bad boys out.

I don’t know why I took a picture of a twenty-five pound bag of flour that I bought, but I might as well share this with you as well.

It’s nice to make my own bread from time to time.

We have a nice Dutch oven and buying flour in bulk helps keep me on the baking.

Check out these sweet Neopets stickers that Lauri bought for me as a surprise when I got home from Michigan.

I had to fight to find the gift code on these stickers and then when I tried to redeem the gift code two things happened at the same time.

  1. I had a random battle event pop up that interrupted figuring out what the gift was and
  2. I got locked out of my account.

I was able to get back in, but that was an awful lot of work for a digital item in a game I haven’t played in years.

Sweet stickers, though.

Wednesday February 5th, 2025

I’ve been playing a lot of All The Mods 10 lately, which is Minecraft with over four-hundred mods installed.

In the picture you can see my honey shield on the left corner of the screen and in the center is my computer storage system.

The yellow pipes above the computer carry items from my Mystic Agriculture farm to my system and the orange pipes carry power from my generators to the various devices lurking around my base.

I should really get rid of those lava cauldrons on the right side of the screen.

Haven’t used those in months.

I took this picture to share in an Online Reality Game (ORG) that I’m playing.

Did you know that you can play virtual versions of shows like Survivor in Discord?

There are servers that host forty-day-long games where you must compete in challenges and avoid being voted out to become the final survivor.

I am currently playing in SurvivORG Season 10: Drive-In Madness.

I tend to make it just past merge and then get voted out.

I’m sure it will happen again.

(And it will be fun).

One of my big goals in the ORG is to see if my toxic traits are improving.

I tend to get frustrated and mouthy in these games, but I’ve been working on myself a lot and learning to step away when I can feel the frustration setting in.

This will be a good test to see if my behavior has improved.

Here’s me and some vegemite.

(There are two players in Australia.)

By the way, if you’ve never tried Vegemite, it’s fantastic, but it must be eaten a certain way.

Don’t eat it straight out of the jar.

That’s a bad idea.

And here is some Grain of Selim aka Hwentea.

This is a delightful African pepper that can be ground and added to coffee when brewing, or ground and sprinkled on top of eggnog.

In coffee it adds a “chai tea” kind of flavor.

When sprinkled on eggnog, it tastes a little bit like nutmeg.

A fantastic spice.

Of course I made sure to also discuss the national park ink-stamp collection.

There are also coins and other fun collectables at the sites as well.

Showing off random things around the apartment and this came up.

Yeah!

Then make your own fucking dinner!

Thursday February 6th, 2025

Today I received this lovely postcard from India.

Want to see a magic trick?

Did you pick the ace of clubs?

(This picture was part of a scavenger hunt challenge in the ORG).

So was this.

Saturday February 8th, 2025

This picture is not part of the scavenger hunt.

This is from a little coffee shop that we stopped by after Lauri got her hair cut.

We had a nice time.

Oh, and I found a Baby Ruth at the dollar store which is part of the scavenger hunt.

There was also a challenge to make a squirrel out of Play-Doh, but for some reason I read “gopher” and made this.

I still submitted it.

As a squirrel.

Tonight we went out to see a movie.

We saw Companion.

I won’t spoil the movie for you, we went out and saw it without watching any trailers, but I was able to sus out what the main plot would be based on the poster that I saw.

It was fun.

I would recommend it.

Speaking of companions, Keanu gets needy sometimes.

Oh yeah! Another scavenger hunt item.

Some kind of flower.

I got made fun of for not being able to spell it.

We also went to an 80s store to see if we could find the Caddyshack toy as it would have ben worth a lot of points.

No luck, but it’s always fun to stop in.

Time to head home and make another dump cake.

I’ve been eating a lot of dump cake lately.

This time using dollar store ingredients.

A $1.25 can of pie cherries, a $1.25 box of cake, some margarine and a can of soda.

Always a good time.

This one turned out really great.

I’ll certainly make this again.

Sunday February 9th, 2025

Tonight we went to a game store and played tabletop games with new friends of Lauri’s.

A nice couple from Ukraine.

I did not take any pictures of Hex & Co. where we met to play games, but here’s a picture of my pen and paper RPGs.

This is what is in the background of my postcard pictures.

Tuesday February 11th, 2025

A postcard to Germany!

Tonight we met some of Lauri’s other friends.

We went to a movie with them.

We saw Love Hurts.

It’s nice to meet new folks and I would like to tell you a secret.

We snuck in soda and snacks to the theater.

I’ve never done this before.

I’m a criminal now!

Wednesday February 12th, 2025

Postcard to Singapore!

There are a lot of folks who are interested in cars and trains on postcrossing.

The recipient of this postcard was one such person.

I had a little discussion about the subway system on the back of this card.

Thursday February 13th, 2025

My friend Tony, on the other hand, gets silly junky cards that I make.

Ones like this tiny broth postcard.

Or other random food items.

Here’s what my some of my postcard kit looks like, by the way.

I did end up sending the other card to another friend of mine who also just happens to be in Michigan.

Friday February 14th, 2025

More postcards!

This one is shipping off to China.

I have been in the room in this picture.

This is from The Longfellow House.

I also received this lovely postcard from Belarus which has a poem.

My wife brought me to a store in Manhattan because she wanted me to see creepy dancing coats.

I don’t think they’re creepy.

Oh yeah!

This was when SNL was doing it’s 50th anniversary thing.

Thank you for reading.

Keanu says “Hi.”
