I am currently in the middle of my friendly visit to Michigan and one of our plans is to make some Bob Ross paintings.

Acrylic paints have been acquired.
In this picture, though, we are attempting a side quest.
Our goal is to find rocks, paint them and then hide them around town.
Note: it is harder to find rocks than I had anticipated, but I was able to find around ten.
Not sure why we brought a knife to a paint fight, either.

But we did it!
We painted the rocks!

Soon, Michigan will learn the joy of painted rocks dispersed throughout town.

Good morning from Canton, Michigan.
Today we are visiting the Ann Arbor Science Museum.
It is a free visit and there are also several tour and learning experiences to be had during this visit.

Oh good, it’s just over here to the left a little bit.

Do you remember the foyer area in Jurassic Park?
Where the banner is falling near the end of the movie?
It looks kind of like this, right?
It feels like this could be in Jurassic Park.

Are there elephants spying on us?

There are!

Who could blame them?
I mean, look at us.

We sexy and cool.

Oh, this place has the opposite of “Don’t touch.” What a great idea!

Oh, and look! They keep ancient bugs in amber.
This reminds me of something…
They also have some displays are are more…
Um.
“Modern.”

We took a tour.
We spent some time wandering around.
And then we attended a lecture about fossilization.
Truly a delight.

And then we left some painted rocks around the campus.

While we’re here, there’s a manga store at the mall.
They did not have the graphic novel I was looking for, but we spent a little bit of time wandering around.
A lovely place.

We also left some painted rock gifts here.

As we head back towards Canton we must make one more stop to a restaurant titled Melt n Dip.
We had intended to have fondue during this visit, but it’s a bit expensive to buy a fondue setup for a single night, so visiting this location is the backup plan.
Look at the fondue!

LOOK AT IT!

I asked for a suggestion, as I tend to do, as I trust the employees to know which items are the best.
I received a sweet pistachio crepe with fondue and drizzle.

Delightful.
Some of the other flavors such as white chocolate were a bit much.
Hard to finish.
Certainly worth a visit if you’re in the area, but be aware that it is easy to be over-sugared.
Oh, and on the side of this picture is a postcard that I made for my partner back in NYC, Lauri.

What a fantastic day filled with adventure.
Sunday January 26th, 2025
I should send a postcard back to Texas.
Our pals Chad and Lisa could probably use a postcard.

We’ll have a nice breakfast at a restaurant where I’ll make a napkin rose for Tony.

And then we’re off to the Plymouth Historical Museum!
The museum we went to yesterday was not a historical site and therefore did not have national park passport stamp, but this site, on the other hand, should have one.
I was not able to find options for a tour here, but I’m sure we’ll have a great time.
We DID have a great time!
We arrived just as the building was opening and the folks inside were so welcoming and amazing!
They were so kind, in fact, that I asked for a tour and they were kind enough to grant the request.

I cannot recommend visiting this place enough.
Fantastic staff, wonderful displays (some of which rotate in and out of the location) and great vibes all around.
Plus they have a passport stamp, which I gathered.
Detroit is filled with all kinds of automobile history, but the Plymouth Museum takes things a bit further and goes into more detail.
If you get a chance, please stop in and have a chat with the folks who work here.
Absolutely delightful.
Check out some of the swag.

Why do they sell glow in the dark zombie dress-up dolls?

I don’t know, but I bought one.

Oops. You shouldn’t skateboard while playing on your tablet, Mr. Zombie.
As the day is growing late, let’s go and watch a movie.

Paddington in Peru is not the movie we went to see, but I like this picture.
We saw Nosferatu.
Levi from the future, here to tell you that one of the painted rocks is still where we left it at the restaurant. (The one with the napkin rose).
