Today we see Cabaret on Broadway!

Photography is not allowed in the venue (someone almost got kicked out during the show) so please enjoy these photos of entering the venue.

It is a fantastic show, though the response from much of the crowd shows that not everyone “gets it” which is a downer.
But there will be no spoilers from me, so on to the next topic

My partner and I got photos at the 30 Rock tree!

My goodness it is cold out!

I also received a lovely postcard from Taiwan today.

The author of this card shared that they used to live in Austin and that members of their family live in New York City.
What a small world.
It is a good day and I fall asleep reading manga.

Rakugo!
Tonight is the night we have tickets to see Katsura Sunshine’s Rakugo

Please do not worry, I have prepared for this evening by reading Akane-banashi.

Rakugo is a Japanese comedy style that involves one person telling stories with limited props.
This show only comes through once a month and I am happy that we got to try something new.

It was such a good show that we bought tickets for the next show!
See you again next month, Katsura Sunshine!

Today we have tickets to another show that I bought months ago as soon as I saw tickets go on sale.
Randy Feltface.
An Australian puppet comedian who is pure manic chaos comedy.

It was a fantastic show.
And fuck bananas.

Our cat Penny who had FIP is now fully cured and so we celebrated this evening with a cat cake which is tuna and mashed potatoes.

Postcards!
So I send postcards with postcrossing.com which focuses on sending postcards to strangers in other countries and on postcrossing.com the limit of how many cards you can have out “traveling” at any given time is based on how many cards you have sent which have been marked as received.
Tonight I sent card number ninety-nine which places me one step closer to hitting the one-hundred-sent-cards mark which will increase my max.
So a new recipient of a postcard was requested and a person in Czechia was selected.
This is the card that I sent.

This card is from a church in The Bronx that is a national historic site that I visited and just happened to arrive during a historical discovery discussion.
This is also the story that I told on the other side of this postcard for the recipient.
Postcrossing is good fun.
Of course when I send nice postcards to someone on Postcrossing I tend to send junky cards to Tony in Michigan.
For this round I used the cover display card from the pack of postcards that I purchased at Cabaret.

It’s kind of not-a-postcard, but it kind of is.
These are what I tend to send to Tony.
Also I got a message on Postcrossing from someone who sent me a card that I never registered.
They were concerned that I did not receive it due to my move to New York from Austin, but the timing did not match up and also I put in a change-of-address form so it should have still arrived.
I went ahead and marked the card as received since they sent me the code, but when I saw the card I can confirm that this did not arrive.
I wonder where it ended up at?
Is lost mail just thrown away?
Tuesday December 17, 2024
I’ve been in New York long enough and have spent enough time transitioning into my new job that I need to get back to the habits that I was trying to build before the move.
I’ve been doing daily DuoLingo lessons for over four years now, but I put daily push-ups on hold…
For many months.
Today we start them up again!
I was able to do ten pushups and I look forward to watching this number grow again.
A new adventure book has arrived in the mail as well.

Two books, actually.
The other is an adult couple’s book.
We won’t be talking about that book in detail. ๐
These books have scratch-off challenges on the inside.
There is a name and some basic details such as how long a task can take and if spending money is required.
I look forward to trying these!
I also sent a postcard to Taiwan today, though my camera does not like trying to take photos of suns.

That’s weird, right?

First things first. We need to send Tony another postcard.

Next adventure for the day is one of the scratch-off adventures from the Adventure Challenge book.
My partner and I are required to hold hands and go on a long walk.
We are also required to talk while the other listens and does not talk.
We pushed each other on a swing while doing this.

Not that baby swing on the left.
It was a nice stroll and I’m glad that we got some time outside of the apartment.
This adventure book is off to a good start.

Another postcard is being sent this evening with postcrossing.
One of the Cabaret postcards, this time to Austria.
