#BookOfGoodTimes – I Drew A Turtle In The Dark – Sort Of

November 29th, 2024. Astoria, NY. 34ยฐ F (1ยฐ C)

My copy of The Book of Good Times has arrived in the mail.

This is a Kickstarter project by Hank Green and I am excited to say it is the first Kickstarter project that I have ever backed.

This book ticks several checkboxes for me: creativity, positivity, gratuity, going outside, practicing and learning, to name a few.

Also this feels like an ARG (alternate reality game) and I am a sucker for ARGs.

I would like to share one page from this book that I have completed: Draw a turtle in the dark.

Which I did.

I really put effort into trying to add detail to my blind artwork and I am sorry to say that at the top of this post was not my first try.

Here is my first attempt.

I forgot to click the mechanical pencil to push the lead out of the end.

I even felt the end of the pencil in the dark to make sure this wouldnโ€™t happen.

It felt like graphite was sticking out of the end of the plastic nib.

*sigh*

Try two was better.

I mean…

I think it was.

You be the judge.

(Those random shapes on the shell were supposed to be hexagons).

  1. Thank you for sharing your turtle! What kind of a chair did you draw?

    1. I drew an Ikea folding chair. It’s what we had at my apartment when I got my first work-from-home job. I keep meaning to replace it, but it’s comfortable.
      How about you?
(exploring your site right now. about to disable wifi)
