On Tuesday October 8th, my Pixel 5a died.
I was not saving my photos in the cloud.
Luckily this is only two or three weeks of lost images thanks to this blog.
I also have a new job and so I have been focusing on this and have been going on less adventures, but I am settling in and getting back out there!

On this postcard I discussed that I don’t enjoy S’mores because I don’t like Hershey’s chocolate or Graham crackers and so I worked with a friend to try to create a better snack with marshmallows that is roasted over a fire.
We called them S’lesses.

We are going to see Iain Sterling today!
Lauri is a fan of the British television show Taskmaster and Iain Sterling was a contestant on this show.
He is also the announcer for Love Island.
I think.
It’s one of those romantic reality shows.
Pretty sure that’s the one.
On our way to the show there were some tourists sitting across from us on the subway.
A performer came into our train car and started playing loud music with the intent of dancing or something, but a guy standing at the center pole refused to move for him.
The tourists were upset.
No one else was.
The Iain Sterling show was fun. We had good seats and a good time.

Today the goal is to convert my driver’s license to NYC.
I have a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a tanker certification and so it’s always a little bit of a pain since I no longer use my CDL.
In Texas I needed to sign a thing to keep my CDL so that I wouldn’t need to keep paying for DOT physicals.
As a CDL holder you’re required to have checkups done to ensure that your body won’t collapse while behind the wheel of a big truck.
I schedule an appointment, I run to the bus stop, I hop into the subway train, I arrive late, but I am able to complete the form I needed to fill out by the time my number is called.
Unfortunately they will not transfer my CDL unless I had a DOT physical.
😔
I came very close to abandoning my CDL.
So I’ll need to get the physical and then run back to the DMV again.
At least they let me keep my paperwork so that I can just use it again next time. That was nice.

Today I send a postcard to The Netherlands!
I talked about camping in the desert and sledding down a sand dune on this one.
We are out of these amazing bug postcards that we bought at the science museum.
We’re planning on going back and loading up on postcards sometime.
I also spend this day sending out thank you postcards to rangers who gave particularly good tours.
Oh, I forgot to mention it! October 1st is postcard day.
