Our goal today is to visit the Queens Museum which is home of the Worlds Fair collection and other exhibits.
Load the travel packs and off to Flushing, Queens!

Home of the Worlds Fair.

And now a place to take silly photos.

Or regular photos.

They have a payphone.

The coolest thing here is the giant minature (ha!) of New York City.

We’re in Astoria, New York which is right about here.

It was a lovely visit.
I bought postcards.
We then went out for lunch at Bodhi Village.

I ordered a risky drink during this visit.
Lychee coffee.

This drink is interesting.
When I take the first sip I get a blast of sweet lychee, which I love, and then I get the taste of iced coffee, which I also enjoy but there is a clear switch from one flavor to the next.
It works.
Until it doesn’t.
The first half of the drink was fantastic, but I had trouble getting through the second half.
I wonder if I was supposed to stir this.
Perhaps the flavors had separated too much.
Truly a fascinating drink and I would suggest trying it, but it is not for the feint of heart.
On our trek home we walked past a beautiful temple.

We also made a quick trip to an Asian market.

I bought some nice kiwi juice during this visit.
It was a lovely day to explore Flushing, Queens.

Wreck This Journal is a fantastic way to get small adventures every day and now that we’re settled into our new apartment, I’m getting back into my groove of daily adventures.
As my neighborhood is near the beach when I saw this page in Wreck This Journal, I knew exactly the place to walk to in order to complete this.

The beach.

Oh, the ferry in the background is just arriving, too.

Time for stomping.

Stomp.

Success.

Today I found a YouTube video where a man tested “struggle recipes.”
The video is a bit “trolly” so when he ranked golfish crackers in orange juice as the highest rated item, I was skeptical and tried to talk my pal Tony (the one I send all of the postcards to) into trying it.
My partner Lauri did not like that I was pressuring someone else into risking their tongue for my own whims and brought home this pairing to try for myself.

Not one to back down from a dare, I will prepare this dubious snack.

In the video he prepared the dish like a breakfast cerial but instead of cereal & milk, he used goldfish & orange juice.

I made a sample size version of this treat.

I’ll be damned.
It’s good.
In the youtube video the person described it as a fruit and cheese pairing and I agree.
This is a delightful snack that I would have again.
I’m sure that my friends are sick of me suggesting this, but I really do recommend this.
If you hate it, please leave a comment on this post.

Today I have returned to selling my PlayStation 2 collection of video games on eBay.
I have around five hundred games left to sell so this will take some time, but now that I’m settled in I can just list them on eBay as regular sell items (as opposed to auctions) and let them sell when they sell.
I take photos, find a reasonable price, list the games, package & label them and then wait.
In order to make this feel like progress I doodled a pile of stone rubble on a note card.
For every five games that I list or sell I add a new card with a new doodle showing growth of my eBay kingdom.
I now have a cave and a bed doodled for this kingdom.
In preparation for this eBaying I recently grabbed a stack of newspapers from the recycle bin downstairs which came in handy for today’s Wreck This Journal page.

Check out this cool newspaper page.

Several pages of Wreck This Journal are best done in small segments rather than all at once.
I also started the “sticky things” page today.

Just cut off a small piece of glue stick and taped it into a book like a perfectly normal person would.

Wreck This Journal – Doodle on an envelope.

Well, the top half looks kind of like a snake.
The bottom half… Maybe like a perspective view of a street?

A street with no sidewalks and a snake with no sleep, judging by those eyes.
This page is a neat one. I like this.
I have also been back into sending postcards with postcrossing and today I received a card from The Netherlands.

Kissing fish.
I also sent a postcard to Poland today.
I used one of the postcards purchased at the Queens Museum.

And of course Tony gets a postcard as well.

This is also from the Queens Museum.
A photo of the city miniature.
Be off, sweet postcards!

May the postal graffitti angel BR0SKII who watches over this leter box guide you to your new home.
Lauri says “You can have zee chicken.” (a quote from L.A. Story).

Random: Here’s a picture I took of the Ducktales video game. I noticed the latitude & longitude coordinates and thought that I’d look them up later.
