Monday February 19, 2024.

I occasionally grow grass for the cats.
I do this in our apartment’s kitchen window where it is easy to forget if a post-it note is not used.
First, let the seeds soak for a day or two in water.

Next, toss them into a Taco Bell cup filled with dirt.

Soon they’ll be eating fresh grass and then vomiting it onto the floor.
It’s supposed to be good for them, I hear, but we have one cat who really likes to chow down on the stuff.
She over does it.
I also sent a postcard to Hong Kong on this day.

My partner Lauri was kind enough to drop it into the mailbox.

I sent a postcard to Croatia with a Guacamole recipe.

In this postcard I discussed that I was excited to have the car this weekend and would be going camping.
I moved the cat grass seeds to the Taco Bell cup and decided it was time to put the cactus in the window back into an upright position.
I initially tried to use chopsticks, but resorted to silicon tongs.

The tongs got an ouchie.

(I removed this with tweezers)

I keep a spreadsheet with my adventure ideas, but this spreadsheet also serves other purposes such as:
- Tracking new adventure ideas
- Keeping notes for this blog
- Building habits
On that last one I have been tracking how many achievements I complete every day on DuoLingo.
My goal is to get the badge every month, which I have succeeded at every month since beginning this daily adventure project.
On this day I added a new item, though.
I am now doing daily push-ups.
Today I logged five.
I am writing this post fifteen days after initiating this new habit.
I have continued with this small change and I am currently able to complete fifteen pushups.
My goal is to make more tiny changes like this and live healthier.
This is a small change and I can continue with it.
I know that I will plateau at some point and that this is okay.
I will add more exercises, but I am making small and sustainable changes.
When should I add a new exercise?
How about when I can do 75 push-ups?
Yes, when I can do 75 push-ups it will be time to add another exercise to my daily routine.
Thursday the 22nd of February is a potato day.

I plan to go camping this weekend and in my postcard to Germany I discussed my excitement for this.

I have too many stickers.
Like my unsent postcards I have been purchasing more than I have been using and the collection is now too large.

I plan to try focusing on using up one or two sticker collections at a time so that these folders will begin to empty out.
I received two postcards this day, one from Czechia about a family owned restaurant that serves the fish that the family catches.
The other postcard was a photograph from Italy. The envelope that this photograph was shipped in was a reused piece of paper that has something to do with stamp collecting.
How appropriate. Recycling paper about stamps to send mail.

I also received a refund from a medical company that I’ve been fighting for some time who incorrectly billed me.
Twice.
Tomorrow, Saturday, I have election clerk training and then I plan to spend the night at Abilene State Park.
I wait to look into the parks that I’ll be visiting until the last minute so that there are surprises and on this day I discovered that West Texas has a state park that is a sand dune!
I have do go there!
I should take pictures…
I need to find the tripod.
Penny says “Hi.”
