Sunday February 18th, 2024. 8:26 am. Austin, Texas. โ๏ธ 32ยฐ F (0ยฐ C).
My car is still in the shop, so no travels this weekend, but I had a good Saturday with a focus on projects at home.
We’re getting some spring cleaning done and I found another random item to get rid of that’s worth a little bit of money on eBay.
One of the Choose Your Own Adventure books I found while looking for jewelry wire is a first edition print and so I listed it on eBay. Should fetch somewhere between $20-40, if I had to guess, but we shall see. Maybe I’m way off. This is added to a tabletop game that I listed last week that we haven’t played in several years.
My max postcard count has gone up again!
Now that fifty of the postcards that I have sent on postcrossing have been received my maximum count has risen again.
I have now completed what I consider to be the “beginner numbers.”
That is to say that the amount of cards that you can send increases frequently until fifty.
From this day moving forward my max will only increase for every fifty cards sent. I will need to double my current total to increase my max by one more card.
It feels like I’ve graduated and am no longer a new postcrosser.
๐ Wreck This Journal
I’ve been meaning to complete my current copy of Wreck This Journal.
I have the pages labeled so that it’s easy to figure out which pages to do next, but throughout the months of wrecking this book I occasionally need to replace them as they become stained, blurry and folded over.
While relabeling and making a list of what is left I found a few tiny items worth fixing .

For example one of the first pages in the book is to number all of the pages.
Later in the book is a page that says not to wreck it, but I was not reading these instructions when labeling the pages.

Repairs are now made.

I also stumbled across the fruit sticker page and decided that this one is complete.

There is also the stain page that I have completed, but forgot to mark as “done.”

I then went on to complete two more pages.
Connect the dots with eyes closed.

And here is a page that has taken some time.
Some of these pages make it clear that this book was originally published before the digital age with references to items like stamps, photographs, newspapers & magazines and so I had to specially request a photo to be printed so that I could complete this page.

In all fairness I don’t have any photos of myself lying around at all, let alone one that I don’t like and so a photo that I do like of a sign pointing to me that says “old baldy” will have to do.

A while back my friend, and now neighbor, Dan bought me a David Bowie jigsaw puzzle.
As I have cats it can be difficult to work on jigsaw puzzles, but I recently purchased a way to store puzzles in a tube so that cats can’t eat and lose the pieces.

This ended up not being necessary as I was able to complete this in a day, but better safe than sorry.

This is a nice puzzle and the mat even matches my water bottle.
Double win!

Divided the pieces by color and edge pieces and completed this challenge.
And I believe that I found David Bowie.

My partner Lauri & I also played a round of the tabletop board game Wingspan.
She beat me by ten points again.
I will do better next round.
