๐Ÿฒ New Life Skill & Clean Shoes

That camp dutch oven event on Jan 6 really has me hooked on the idea of cooking meals at a campsite and so I ordered a book on eBay a while back.

The book has arrived!

Now I just need a camp Dutch oven.

There is a fantastic temperature guide that lists how many coals go beneath and on top of the oven and I am surprised to say that more are meant to be on top.

My assumption has been that most would be underneath.

Also arriving are my new collections of stamps for both international mail and also for local postcards.

My $1 stamps that I have been using previously ran out.

I sent the last international postcard with the old combination today to Switzerland.

I have also filled my slots available on postcrossing for sending cards.

I will need to wait for cards to be marked as arrived before I may send another.

When all of my cards that are currently out arrive my total of sent cards will be fifty-one.

At fifty my allotment goes up to ten.

I’ll be able to send more cards at one time which is good because I have enough stamps to send at least twenty-one more at the moment.

And then there’s my stinky shoes.

I got them super dirty while camping, but they’re the best on my feet and I did not want to leave them behind when hiking would be involved.

These shoes were slippery at times, though.

It is time to invest in some hiking shoes.

I’ll likely head to REI and try to find something nice and use the $50 in gift cards we’ve been saving up at work.

Also, I did wash, scrub and dry the shoes.

Crammed some newspapers in there, too.

Getting old is stupid.

I now must invest in sprays and/or powders to keep my feet and shoes from being stinky.

A spray has been procured.

Wish me luck.

One last adventure list item to discuss is my pen and paper role playing games.

I have too many books and they’re getting hard to remember.

I know I own a copy of This Discord Has Ghosts In It, but do I have a physical copy too, or just a digital copy?

I can’t remember.

And so I am working on a list.

I did purchase a physical copy of Mythical Game Master Emulator second edition today as well as the deck of cards that goes with it.

I look forward to trying the solo RPG life.

Oh! Life skills!

As someone who grew up neglected there are several adulting items that I did not learn. “You don’t know what you don’t know.” is a scary and real issue that I fight with in my life.

This book has done a great job at helping me find a few of these missing lessons.

One of the small changes from this book that I am planning on implementing is keeping the kitchen sink empty.

Lately I’ve been loading the dishwasher when either a. the sink is full or b. I know there are enough dishes to fill the dishwasher.

Moving forward I am hoping to change this to the sink being empty as the default.

I’ve come a long way when it comes to kitchen cleanliness over the years, but there is still more room for growth and this is the current small change that I am hoping to make a permanent change in my life.

Little changes.

Penny & Remus say “Hi.”
