๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ Postcards to China Are A Little Bit Different & Let’s Run A Pen Out Of Ink

Wednesday January 24, 2024. 10:43 pm Austin, Texas. Rainy, 53ยฐ F (12ยฐ C).

My friend, it is a good day.

I was worried that I would have no microadventure on this glorious Wednesday, but I put down my Dead by Daylight gaming session and jumped into writing a couple of postcards.

As is expected Tony will receive a postcard today.

This is a small and glossy postcard and so I must be careful to avoid smearing the ink until it is dried.

There was a small amount of smearing.

Two letters became obfuscated, but they were repaired and I believe they are legible.

If they are not, it would be due to my handwriting and not the smearing.

There is a puppy sticker that I put on this card that may look like Tony’s dog.

I think it does.

I think Tony will agree.

I added an extra small microadventure to my list today.

I have this delightful white ink pen that I got from a challenge in one of my adventure books.

It is what led to my love of gel pens.

But…

I keep worrying that this pen will run out of ink and I keep almost buying another white ink gel pen, but then I think to myself “When was the last time you ran a pen out of ink?”

I’m sure I must have done this before.

Maybe back when I was a truck driver and filing out load details on envelopes every week.

But after this popped into my head I also thought “Why not embrace it?

And so I wrote on my adventure to-do list “Run a pen out of ink.”

Did you know that gel pens are pressurized?

Next up is a postcard to Northern China.

The postcrossing user shared their address in English and in Chinese which is very good because cards written in English are expected to have about a 5% chance of arriving.

I printed the address and taped it to the card.

Best of luck.

Wreck This Journal.

One of my favorite books and a big reason for why I started this blog.

It’s been a while since I’ve completed a page in this book (or any of my other adventure books for that matter) and so today a bit of my ant food will be lost to the cause.

Smush something colorful.

I keep frozen bananas and strawberries in the freezer to feed my last remaining ant in the ant colony.

I’ll give it some time to thaw.

A little bit drippy?

It is ready.

SMOOSHING COMMENCE!

Heh heh. A bit squeezed out of the side.

Ewww.

Note: the foil is to keep Penny from jumping on the counter.

SMOOSHING SUCCESS!

I tidied up the foil, but I am trying to leave this sticky mess on the page to dry.

It was a good day.

Remus says “Hi.”
