Tuesday January 23rd 11:32 pm, Austin, Texas. Dark, cloudy, 55ยฐ F (13ยฐ C).

First and foremost, Tony gets a card. A LBJ historical site postcard of a cowboy that is far too glossy to write on.
Yeehaw.
But really, I keep two stacks of postcards. One with obnoxiously glossy backs that are difficult to write on without smearing the ink and another stack of reasonable cards that absorb ink like paper should.
Postcard snobbery strike one.

Postcard two
An old card purchased at an antique store and shipped to Czechia which my phone thinks I have misspelled despite triple checking Google’s maps.
Also: postcrossing still lists the country as Czech Republic, but I put the correct country name on the address.
Postcard snobbery strike two.
And then the postcrossing card I received in the mail today.

Honestly, I was annoyed with this one.
The back of the card has a giant wall of text in Russian and then a handful of one word sentences that I could not read.
But then I remembered…
On my postcrossing profile I mention that I am not picky about postcards and to send me anything you want, but I feel that my disappointment is legitimate as there was almost no effort out into this.
Postcard snobbery strike three.
What have I become?
But for real, this was a low effort card sent to me and it’s the first time I didn’t favorite a card.
It’s really not a big deal and I will have forgotten about it tomorrow, but tonight my friends, I whine.
Besides the postcards I played a bit more of that game that’s taking the scene by storm Pal World. Hoping to hit level 14 soon and I gotta say it’s a lot of fun to go work on a crafting item and have a bunch of the pals run up and assist.
Seeing the crafting speed shoot up is truly a thing of beauty.
Still lightly prepping for camping this weekend by reading up on camp food.
I am hoping to make cast iron cornbread at our campsite, but I do not believe the foil involved will be authentic to the Little House On The Prairie theme.
Wish me luck.
