Sunday January 21st, 9:33 pm. Dark. 33ยฐF (1ยฐ C)
Today I started the day with a little bit of Dead by Daylight (4 v 1 horror survival game) followed by a bit of cleaning before our guests Chad and Lisa came to visit.
They are my favorite because they brought Taco Bell, which as everyone knows is the best bell.
We tried out the new Jackbox game (Jackbox 10) and we had a fun time.
After their departure I broke out my newest micro adventure goal which is to complete a jigsaw puzzle that has less than five hundred pieces.

This one is interesting as the pieces come in various sizes.
We purchased it for the puzzle rolling part, but I have a puzzle and I haven’t completed a jigsaw with under five hundred pieces since I was a child.
A few months ago I completed a Rubik’s Jigsaw puzzle which is the hardest jigsaw puzzle that I have ever completed and I thought it would be nice to put together one that does not take multiple evenings.

Also of note, I have three cats and so leaving a puzzle out is just not an option unless I want to allow them to enjoy it by chewing on and hiding pieces.

The first step is to sort the pieces by size as well as edge pieces.
Since this puzzle is in thirds by piece size rather than completely the edge first I started with the right side.
The large pieces.
It went fast and the medium pieces looked like they wouldn’t be too challenging.

They weren’t. This puzzle is nice for not having too many “samey” areas.

I am happy to say that I was able to complete the puzzle in two hours and two minutes.

The next goal was then to try out the rolling method included in the box.
Put together the telescoping cardboard tubes.

Roll it up.
Seal it with Velcro straps

And then unroll it to survey the damage.

This is not a perfect solution, at least not for this puzzle, but the pieces that have trouble are the larger ones and these are also the easiest ones to fix.
Not a bad device.
The puzzle is now taken apart and back in the box and I have a roller for the next jigsaw puzzle.
My friend Dan got me a David Bowie puzzle I still need to put together which is what led to this purchase.
I will now add that to my adventure list as a reminder.
Penny says “Hi.”
