๐Ÿซ• Fondue, Wrestling and Flag Store Problems

Austin TX Thursday November 16th at 9:13 am. Cloudy and 58ยฐ F (14ยฐ C) at the moment.

Saturday was the big day! The Fight Opera wrestling show where I am a stage hand.

It was a fantastic show and things went mostly to plan. There were a couple of injuries, and I hope that Atlas’s leg is healing well after getting body slammed into a… I forget what they’re called. Metal poles that hold the barrier rope. His leg hit one during a slam onto the ground outside of the ring. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

On Sunday my lovely partner Lauri took me out for surprise shopping. We visited some local bookstores and I purchased some fancy cheese from the fancy cheese store.

On Monday we revisited the big library in downtown Austin and I’m excited to say that they overhauled their spooky stairs.

They have giant staircases that run through the center of the building suspended in the air and they used to be very easy to see through. Nothing like looking down at a 5 story drop on a staircase that wiggles a little bit.

The wiggling is still there, but it’s not as easy to see the giant empty void. I’ll take what I can get.

The final gift for Lauri also arrived this week.

Custom chopsticks that say “Pee Pee Poo Poo. Pss pss pss.”

That’s love.

And the big event this week was a surprise visit for fondue.

I’m pretty sure I was using the tools wrong, but it was a fantastic meal and we had a great time.

See? I don’t think the fondue fork was supposed to go in my mouth. Oops.

And finally, postcards.

I’ve been purchasing stamps for the stamp collector folks. It costs $1.50 to send a postcard internationally. The easiest method to achieve this is to buy a sheet of $1.50 stamps, but because this is the popular method these stamps are very common and some folks even request in their profiles not to receive “the round US international stamps.”

And so the most recent card I sent had a $1, a 40ยข and a 10ยข stamp. I also figured out another way to break down stamps to $1.50 that’s not as straightforward, but I haven’t used them yet. I keep that set of stamps in a folder so that I don’t have to remember the math to put them together again.

That $1 stamp is a cool one.

And finally the Flag Store. This is a gas station that sells flags and an unusual variety of foods.

We purchased some pizza cakes and a CBD drink here and both were a problem. The pizza roll things were about $17 and unlabeled so that was an unwelcome surprise. Def not worth $17 for a handful of tiny pizzas made with biscuit dough. And then the CBD drink was actually a THC drink despite being placed between two other CBD drinks. Didn’t mean to get high on delta weed drink. That’s two unwelcome surprises in one trip. This store recently changed ownership. Perhaps this is related.

But back to happy things. Here’s Remus.

Remus says “I am the night. I’m Batman.”

Hahha, she loves vigilante justice.
