๐Ÿฆš A Weekend of Parks pt. 3 No Alligators Please

Food.

It was necessary.

The first park after the rest on the wooden bunk beds on Sunday October 15 was Lake Casa Blanca International State Park.

“International State.”

Not sure if those words go together like that.

Here is La Casa Blanca!

I did not once think about if someone could steal the bell.

Much.

There were also mysterious holes. Probably from gophers with controversial opinions about our nation’s history.

Um. I saw a dead centipede. The picture will be a page or two down, so heads up on that.

Nice view of the lake from near the building.

I loved the old timey buildings and structures.

But not the first centipede that I’ve ever had the displeasure of running across.

Ew. Let’s head to the next park.

Choke Canyon State Park!

But first I must drop off a letter for my friend Tony at this rural post office.

Hiking time!

There were many butterflies.

It was a good windy day.

I keep a kite in the car for good windy day, but unfortunately the Spider-Man kite that I kept on hand had lost one of the pieces. Perhaps the glue failed due to the Texas heat.

I was too late for the bird feeding at the bird sanctuary as well.

What a lovely structure to keep at a state park.

I noticed on the map that there was an old road and bridge that used to run through this park. I was able to find some remnants on the path to the beach.

“No thank you.” to alligators.

“Yes, thank you.” to deer selfies. ๐Ÿคณ

Next to the Hill County State Natural Area where I accidentally climbed a mountain (hill) for the second time in my life.

First and foremost there is a sketchy ass bridge that must be crossed to get here. I’ll show you the pictures I took as I left.

The rangers here stamped my passport book upside down. I love it.

Long story short I didn’t realize this wise a hike or horseback ride up a hill area, but I went for it.

Until I came upon this thin strip of loose gravel overlooking a deadly fall filled with cacti.

And like I would if there were alligator signs, I turned around.

This was a highlight of the trip. It was exhilarating to be up high and explore. I especially loved the tree with the walking loop around it.

But the sun would be going down soon. It was time to leave.

And to cross that bridge that I mentioned earlier.

I just feel like water should go under bridges.

It was a good weekend, but it was too rushed at times. Next week I’ll try to limit myself to 3 parks a day.

Keanu says “Hi.”
