✉️ Postcards & Eggs

☀️101° F (38.3° C) in Austin Texas at 3:45 pm.

I am on my lunch break at work to report back that all of those books we checked out on our library adventure are due.

You may recall that these books were checked out on my account by my wife as her account had too many books on it and so I was coerced into reactivating my account (Pls help. She is a book fiend).

I have agreed with a friend in The Netherlands to exchange postcards, and today that postcard arrived.

At least that is what I thought had happened when I saw a postcard from The Netherlands in my mailbox, but purely by coincidence this card is from a postcrossing member.

I have also shipped a card off to Malta this morning as pictured above. This is the 19th card that I have sent with postcrossing and I will need to order more stamps soon as my supply is beginning to run low.

Now. About those eggs.

I’ve been thinking about the egg catapult challenge idea.

I have recently rejoined Facebook to make it easier to get in touch with friends and I think that I would like to have this catapult contest, though I believe I will change some items.

1. Let’s not throw around eggs. This seems like a bad idea. Perhaps tennis balls would be a good substitute.

2. I would prefer to use plastic silverware so that we can toss all of the materials at the end of the event.

3. I believe I will add zip ties as an additional construction material as I love them.

4. Oh, I have bailing wire that I purchased on my trip to Florence, Texas. This may be a good option as well.

5. Where to host this? Perhaps at a state park? Maybe a city park? Can you catapult tennis balls in a city park without getting into trouble?

6. How many people should I invite?

7. What should team size be? 2-4 sounds good to me.

8. Should there be a time limit? Maybe 30 minutes? I’d hate for one team to really try to go extra and make everyone wait. Or perhaps there should be a picnic/potluck aspect to this so that there is plenty to do outside of the launch.

I just need to gather a few supplies and talk a handful of people into doing this.

I will keep you posted.

Keanu says “Hi.”
