I had a lovely visit to Andice & Florence Texas recently and I thought it would be nice to send a thank you card. On this card I shared that some of the bookmarks that I gathered have been sent to Italy which I think is something I would enjoy reading if I were one of the folks who worked at this library.

I also grabbed a few of the extra bookmarks and shared them with the folks at my apartment’s front office. I can never tell if they’re annoyed or delighted with me. Let’s assume “delighted.”

While I was gathering the mail I noticed these package boxes that are never used any more and also that there is a bit of a “hollow” behind them.

Thinking to myself “Why the heck not?” I took a peek.

Behold the mysterious plant that lives in the secret cove behind the abandoned package boxes.

Also note the power outlets in case I ever need to plug in a lamp in the mailbox area.

Let us name this plant.

I enjoy using randomizers and name generators when creating pen & paper RPG content, so let’s do the same here. Select a random name generation site, pick the first thing that catches my eye. “Sci-fi.” Perfect. And GENERATE!

Sutron. Meet Sutron the giant two leaf plant who charges her phone back here when no one is looking.

She’d have gotten away with it too, if she would have remembered to close the outlet flaps, but it seems that she’s grown used to folks not peeking back here and has become complacent with her stolen phone charging juice.

But I will keep this secret to myself. I will not alert the plant police as I do not trust that they would give Sutron a fair shake. The corruption in the plant police has been quite the topic lately and I would be remorse to submit anyone to that level of malfeasance.

Sutron, your secret is safe with me. I will sneak in an extra $5 on my utility bill to make up the difference for this undeclared electricity usage.

Time to clock in for work… Also, I need to fold laundry. Priorities are a funny thing.
